Receive NCTA's Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award is one of NCTA’s highest honors, recognizing years of dedication and service to the Real Tree industry. This year’s recipients were no exception. Surrounded by family and friends, Calvin and Arlene Frelk were on hand at the 2011 NCTA Convention in Huron, Ohio, to receive this prestigious award.

The small community of Merrillan in Jackson County gets its nickname as the "Christmas Tree Village" because it's home to Wisconsin's largest Christmas tree farm and proud Farm Bureau members, the Frelk and Ahl families.

Northern Christmas Trees and Nursery receives WGIF Distinguished Service Award
John and Ginger Ahl and Cal and Arlene Frelk, owners of Northern Christmas Trees and Nursery in Merrillan, were honored by the Wisconsin Green Industry Federation (WGIF) with the Distinguished Service Award. Northern Christmas Trees and Nursery received the association’s highest honor during the Annual Convention Awards Banquet held in conjunction with Mid-Am in Chicago, Jan. 18. The WGIF honored the Ahls and Frelks for years of active membership in the Federation and several of its member associations.

The Lambeau Field Christmas Tree
Northern Christmas Trees & Nursery had the honor of supplying a 40 ft Balsam Fir Christmas tree to Lambeau Field at the Harlan Plaza on November 29th, 2006. In conjunction with the Green Bay Packers and Festival Foods, the tree helped usher in the yuletide spirit Saturday evening December 2nd, 2006 with the “Festival of Lights at Lambeau field”. The 40 ft Christmas tree was decorated with more than 10,000 lights which were provided by Mills Fleet Farm. |
